They Came form Upstairs is Ashley Tisdale’s upcoming movie. The movie, which opens July 31st, follows a group of kids who have to protect their Maine vacation home from aliens. This summer teen flick’s cast also includes Andy Richter and Doris Roberts. Check out this just released trailer for the movie.
With 17 Again hitting US theaters in just 11 days, Zac Efron is starting his promotional tour here in the states. We have a partial list of upcoming television appearances.
You can also find Zac on HBO this week. They are airing Hairspray.
Today the wax image of Zac Efron was unveiled at Madame Tussauds New York. The figure is on loan from Madame Tussauds Las Vegas for 3 months. Zac joins fellow Disney stars Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers at the New York attraction.
Last year during the filming of High School Musical 3: Senior Year, Zac took part in a 2 hour process of hundreds of photos and 250 precise measurements of his head and body so that the likeness could be created. Last month we reported that Matt Prokop will not be reprising his role as Jimmy “the Rocket” Zara in the 4th installment of the High School Musical franchise. Now thw Associated Press is reporting that Jemma McKenzie Brown’s character Tiara Gold will also be missing from the cast.
Good luck Jemma! It seems odd that so far 2 of the 3 characters that were brought in to HSM 3 to continue the saga are now not returning for 4. I wonder if Justin Martin is next. What do you think about this latest development?
Ashley Tisdale’s new album “Guilty Pleasures” will be released June 16th. This album has an edgier, guitar-driven, pop-rock sound, which is new for Ashley. She says, “I’m growing up and this is music I would listen to.” Ashley co-wrote several tracks on the project and admits she vented some past relationship issues in her lyrics. The first single off this project is “It’s Alright, It’s OK” and it will begin radio play and be available on iTunes on April 14th. We wish Ashley the best!
The Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice awards were held this past weekend and there were 14 Disney nominees in 9 of the 18 award categories. Of those 14 nominees 6 went home with the coveted blimp trophy. This year over 90 million votes were cast by kids for their favorite actors, actresses, bands, singers, movies, books, atheletes and more. This year’s Disney winners were: Favorite TV Actor: Dylan Sprouse-The Suite Life of Zack and Cody Favorite TV Actress: Selena Gomez-Wizards of Waverly Place Favorite Band: The Jonas Brothers Favorite Female Singer: Miley Cyrus Favorite Movie Actress: Vanessa Hudgens Favorite Movie: High School Musical 3: Senior Year Congratulations to the cast of High School Musical 3!!
Paramount Pictures has issued a statement that backs up yesterday’s rumors. “Zac Efron is no longer attached to the upcoming film.” says the statement. Zac has been part of the Footloose re-make plan since the summer of 2007. Zac is trying hard to re-brand himself and get away from the good boy, singing and dancing roles that shot him to stardom. Just last week Interview magazine’s April cover was released and Zac is posing with a naked model-something Coach Bolton would disapprove of Troy doing, I am sure. Not everyone is successful at re-branding themselves. It wil be interesting to see how Zac makes out on his quest.

Seventeen magazine is hosting FREE screenings of Zac Efron’s movie 17 Again on April 14th for people living in Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Portland, OR. If you live in or near one of these cities click 
She said: “I think it’s been decided they’re going for a whole new route with it which is a shame but I had a really good time doing the third one.” Jemma has gone back to auditioning and says she has had some cool opportunities come up so far.
Zac Efron was looking great as always as he walked the red carpet at Odeon West End in London for today’s 17 Again premiere. It seems Zac was dateless again. Even co-stars Matthew Perry and Leslie Mann didn’t make it to London for the premiere. All of the stars are expected to attend the US premiere in Hollywood at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre on April 14th, three days before it arrives in US theatres. Those that have already seen the movie as it has opened in Australia and France have given it high ratings and reviews. It will be interesting to see how this romantic comedy fairs here in the US.
