Autorama Appearances

Anyone attending the Annual O’Reilly Autorama in Dallas this weekend could be lucky enough to score an autograph from one of two huge Disney Channel stars. Mom and dad can check out all the cool cars and motorcycles at the show while the kids meet some of the biggest Disney Channel stars.

On Saturday, February 14th newlywed KayCee Stroh from the High School Musical trilogy will be signing autographs from 1-4pm and 7-9pm. On Sunday, February 15th Miley Cyrus’ co-star, Jason Earles will be meeting and greeting fans from noon-4pm. Jason plays Hannah Montana’s big brother Jackson Stewart and he is also appearing in the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie-Dadnapped.

Regular admission tickets can be purchased at the Dallas Market Center for $14 (adults) and $5 (ages 6-12); children five years old and under will be admitted for free. Discount tickets are available at Dallas/Fort Worth-area O’Reilly Auto Parts stores.


DC Rewind and More

This next week you have several opportunities to see your favorite High School Musical cast members on televison. The Disney Channel is showcasing its top Disney original TV movies as a lead up for a new show starring Demi Lovato titled-Sonny with a Chance. On Saturday you can watch Corbin Bleu in Jump In! at 4:00pm ET, The Cheetah Girls 2 at 6:00pm and The Cheetah Girls One World at 8:00pm. Then on Sunday you can enjoy replays of the star hosted premieres of High School Musical at 2:00pm, High School Musical 2 at 4:00pm and Camp Rock at 6:00pm. Then the premiere of Sonny with a Chance at 8:00pm.

That’s not all. Of course, you can see or hear Ashley Tisdale on The Disney Channel anytime The Suite Life of Zack and Cody or Phineas and Ferb are on the air. Ashley can also be seen Wednesday at 9am on TNT in Charmed. Zac Efron can be seen Saturday at 7:00pm on the USA network in NCIS and Wednesday the 11th on The Disney Channel Suite Life of Zack and Cody. Kay Cee Stroh will also be on The Disney Channel Wednesday at 7 and 11pm in Suite Life of Zack and Cody. Chris Warren Jr will be on WGN America Thursday the 12th at 6:00pm on Becker.  It is always fun to see your favorite actors in other roles so don’t forget to check these out.


Zac Efron’s New Movie Poster

On April 17, 2009 Zac Efron’s new movie 17 Again will open in theatres around the country. In this movie, which is rated PG-13, Zac plays the lead character Mike O’Donnell at age 17. The premise of the movie is a 37 year old Mike O’Donnell, played by Matthew Perry, is living a life that didn’t turn out the way he had planned. He wished he could go back to high school and do it all over again. The next day he wakes up and he is 17 again.

See Corbin Bleu in Person

Corbin has been busy since the start of the new year and it sems is schedule isn’t going to slow down anytime soon. He has two appearances coming up in the next 5 days. Friday, February 6, 2009 Corbin will be at the Build-a-Bear Workshop in the Town Center at Cobb in Kennesaw, GA from 4-6pm.

Sunday, February 8, 2009 Corbin will be at the Washington DC Auto Show at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. While there Corbin will be a judge for the “Dancing for Toyota” competition from 3:00-4:15pm.


Happy Birthday Ryne Sanborn

Ryne Sanborn, best known for playing Jason Cross in all 3 installments of High School Musical turns 20 years old on Wednesday, February 3rd. Ryne was born in Salt Lake City, Utah and has been acting and modeling since age 3.Ryne has appeared in the television shows Everwood and Touched by an Angel. He also co-starred with Lucas Grabeel (Ryan Evans-HSM 1,2 &3) and McCall Clark (Emma, one of Sharpay’s “Sharpettes”-HSM2) in the movie The Adventures of Food Boy.

Ryne first caught the eye of High School Musical director Kenny Ortega back in 2002 when Ryne was chosen to play the Child of Light in the opening and closing ceremonies of the XIX Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. Ortega was one of the producers for the ceremonies. In this video, Ryne appears just before the 2 minute mark. Ryne’s true passion in life though is ice hockey and dreamed for years about playing for the US Olympic hockey team. Currently Ryne plays for a team of celebrities who play for charity events. Ryne is also attending the University of Utah majoring in film and minoring in poly sci.

You can see Ryne on the Disney Channel this weekend as they air High School Musical 1 and 2 Saturday afternoon. Ryne will be signing autographs at the World of Wheels Car Show in Pittsburgh, PA on February 8th from 12-5pm  and at the Annual Carl Casper Custom & New Car Show in Louisville, KY on February 21st from 1-4pm and 7-9pm.

High School Musical Manicure Kits Recalled by Fantas-Eyes Due to Risk of Lead Exposure

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: High School Musical Manicure Kits
Importer: Fantas-Eyes Inc., of New York, N.Y.

Hazard: The lettering “HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL” with glitter on the pouch used with the manicure kit contains excess levels of lead. Lead can be toxic if ingested by young children and cause adverse health effects.

Description: This recall involves the pouch that contains the “High School Musical” manicure kit. The 7-1/2 inch by 4-3/4 inch plastic see-through pouch has a pink zipper with “High School Musical” printed in yellow gold with glitter and “Sharpay” printed in dark red on one side.

Sold by: LTD Commodities and ABC distributing catalogs and Web Sites and on www.lakeside.com from September 2008 to November 2008 for about $11.

Manufactured in: China

Remedy: Consumers should immediately take the recalled pouch used with the manicure kit away from children and contact Fantas-Eyes for a free replacement. Consumers can continue using the manicure items.

Zak and Vanessa in Tokyo

Zak Efron and Vanessa Hudgens survived the 12 hour airplane flight from LAX to Narita International Airport in Japan. They are in Japan to promote High School Musical 3:Senior Year which premieres in Japan on February 7th. As they arrived in the terminal they were surrounded by 30 police and security guards who were helping to keep the hundreds of screaming and crying fans at bay.


Corbin Bleu and Justin Martin Serve Up Lunch

High School Musical stars Corbin Bleu (Chad Danforth) and Justin Martin (Donny Dion) served up lunch at a California elementary school on Friday. This star-studded lunch was part of a prize package from Sara Lee’s Soft and Smooth Lunchtime is Showtime video contest. The winner Bronwyn Arnold, and 11 year old singer and songwriter, wrote the song in the winning video and recruited 120 of her school mates to participate in the video titled “Fueled for Fun”. You can watch the video on the Sara Lee site here. In addition to the lunch time appearance Bronwyn received a year’s supply of Sara Lee Soft and Smooth bread and a $25,000 grant for her school to use to help bring joy to the lunchroom.

While at the school Bleu shared that, “Justin and I feel it is so important to encourage good nutrition habits at a young age. We teamed up with Sara Lee because they understand the importance of making nutrition easy and tasy for kids.”

Radio Disney Jams 11

Next week Walt Disney Records will release the 11th edition in the multi-plainum selling Radio Disney Jams family. As with all the other Radio Disney Jams projects it is filled with great music from several top Disney artists such as The Jonas Brothers, Zac Efron, Demi Lovato and Vanessa Hudgens. Disney Shopping has a new skin tool called Skinit You can create Disney skins for your cell phone, laptop, PDA, handheld gaming device. The prices are reasonable-for my cell phone the skin would cost $14.95. There are lots of different High School Musical graphics to choose from.

Disney Shopping is also running a pre-order special for the High School Musical 3:Senior Year DVD. You can save $10 when you pre-order your High School Musical DVD or Blue-Ray with any High School Musical 3:Senior Year video game or the premiere edition of the CD.
